Choosing guitar strings

Choosing guitar strings doesn't have to be difficult. The first step to choosing your guitar strings starts with the type of guitar you have or the style of music you want to play.

There are nylon guitar strings for classical style playing, nickel guitar strings for electric guitars. They can also be stainless steel guitar strings, however nickel is far more popular.

For an acoustic guitar, you are likely to want bronze guitar strings, with the first three strings being stainless steel.

Those are the three major differences in choosing your guitar strings. The video below recaps the information in this blog and also provides a visual for your information.

If you choose the electric guitar, you will also need to choose a quality guitar chord, and a quality amplifier.

You are also going to need a guitar strap, possibly a guitar case, and a backup set of guitar strings.

Your strings will sound in the following notes from top to bottom - E-A-D-G-B-E. There are several ways to accomplish getting the tuning of your guitar completed. The easiest of which is through the use of chromatic tuners, which you can find for very reasonable prices.

There are also methods like harmonic tuning, which again will be covered in later blogs.
